Jihad and Rumana: A Tale of Resilience and Compassion

Jihad and Rumana are two siblings in their mid-sixties, both of whom are physically disabled. They reside in the remote village of Kurar Para in the flood-prone Bogdanga Union of Kurigram district, Bangladesh. Their mother, Jannati Begum, and father, Rahim Ali, struggle to make ends meet. Rahim works as a day laborer, earning a meager income to sustain their lives.

The siblings face numerous challenges due to their disabilities. They cannot walk or communicate verbally, spending their days sitting together. Their impoverished circumstances make it difficult to provide even basic necessities for them. However, in 2022, Ar-Rahman Organization Bangladesh discovered their plight. After visiting their home and learning about their situation, the organization stepped in to help.

Through the generosity of an expatriate donor, the organization now provides monthly food supplies for Jihad and Rumana. Since they lack a proper home and kitchen, Ar-Rahman Organization is working tirelessly to build a shelter for them, complete with a functional kitchen. Currently, the siblings receive regular meals, thanks to the unwavering support of Allah (SWT).

This heartwarming story exemplifies the impact of compassion and collective efforts. Ar-Rahman Organization continues to work towards creating a healthier and more prosperous Bangladesh, relying on the contributions of kind-hearted individuals. If you’d like to contribute to their cause, your support can make a difference in the lives of those in need. May Allah’s blessings be upon us all.
